Beginning Meditation on Compassion

Beginning Meditation Sadhana

Audio to listen to for a Guided meditation:

 Taking Refuge in Higher Being

From my heart, I recite the refuge prayer and visualize that streams of golden-white light radiate from the Awakened One’s (Buddha’s) body in all directions, blessing me and all sentient beings.

In order to obtain perfect enlightenment, I vow from now on to go for refuge to the Guru and Three Precious Gems, and not abandon sentient beings. I will practice the six perfections (generosity, ethics, patience, joyful effort, concentration, wisdom). (3x)

Four Great WishesMay all sentient beings have happiness, and the cause of happiness.
May they be free from suffering, and the causes of suffering.
May they never be separated from the bliss that is sorrowless,
May they abide in equanimity free from attachment and aversion. (3x)

Invocation
I invoke, honor, and respect the Awakened Ones (Buddhas) and  Spiritual Heroes  (Bodhisattvas) that gather here.
I align myself with the great ones and seek guidance.
Please bless me to accomplish this meditation in self-healing.

Seven Limb Prayer

Reverently I prostrate with my body, speech and mind,
and present clouds of every type of offering, both actual and mentally transformed.
I confess all my negative actions accumulated since beginningless time,
and rejoice in the virtues of all holy and ordinary beings.
Please remain until cyclic existence ends, and turn the Wheel of Dharma for sentient beings.
I dedicate all the virtues of myself and others to the great enlightenment.

Mantra Recitation (recite many times)

OM AH GURU VAJRADHARA

Dedication

May my capacity for compassion be infinite. I dedicate these efforts to complete and total enlightenment so that I may be of benefit to all sentient beings.  May it be so!
