This progressive relaxation guided meditation helps us to release stress and tension, and relax our body.

In this meditation, we go to a relaxing place and notice what we see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. We gather our senses, and then turn our senses inward.

Step 3 Meditations to Calm the Mind

We can use the breath to calm the mind. As our breathing becomes slower and smoother, the mind calms.

Assess the Breath

We can take a moment to assess our breath – is it rough or smooth?  even on both sides or stronger on one side?  The more upset our mind is the less smooth our breath will be.

We can calm our mind using the breath. Take slow, deep breaths. As the breath becomes slower and smoother, the mind relaxes.

 Mantra takes the minds natural ability to focus on a thought and circle around and around, and substitutes a more positive object to focus on. you can can a mantra with your own name or a positive affirmation (happy and safe). Empowered phrases have been used for centuries – OM MANI PEME HUM is a mantra of compassion – the wish that no one would suffer or be unhappy.
